MAKING A DIFFERENCE – HOMEOPATHY AROUND THE WORLD
A montage of projects from the UK’s Glastonbury Music Festival to the heart of Africa, via Haiti’s earthquake and many other places in between, we take a look at the incredible work being done by homeopaths in the field. The film has been released on DVD and can be purchased from Whole Health Now who funded production of the film. Own a piece of history. All profits go to support the projects featured.
SAVING A LOST GENERATION Recovering autism using homeopathy
STS Productions has put together a pilot study to investigate the potential of homeopathy in the recovery of children affected by autism. A lead investigator with extensive research experience and attached to a prominent university has joined the team, the protocol has been finalized and the list of interested families informed about progress. Something to Say Productions will film the families as they go through the process. Reality TV at its finest. All we need now is to raise the funding. $200,000 will fund the pilot study for one year and the documentary film of the process. You can watch clips of two families who “got their children back” on our HOME page, watch two more families and read more about the project here.
PROJECT SHOWING HOMEOPATHY WORKS
While that funding is coming together we’ve been working on a project that will blow the question of whether homeopathy works or not right out of the water.
We had an opportunity to pitch this project directly to a BBC commissioner who was interested, but in light of the media bias that has been perpetrated by Sense About Science and other anti-CAM organisations in the UK she turned it down!
Is she crazy? Perhaps, but she wasn’t willing to risk not being able to tell the homeopathic story the way it needs to be told. (In fact recent reporting by the BBC has increasingly shown that turning them down was a very wise decision.)
The project is controversial, attacks on homeopathy are escalating. Carol has already been subject to a Freedom of Information request by ‘persons unknown’ asking for access to three years of emails relating to the projects.
We’ve shown a 7 min clip of the footage to a group of movers and shakers in the homeopathic world and here’s just a taste of their feedback….
“Great job!!! Congratulations! Fabulous video quality, immediately grabbed my attention, powerful story. Can’t wait to see the rest!”
Miranda Castro FSHom
“Wonderful footage and interviews, great job – we will prevail!”
Jeremy Sherr, Principal, Dynamis School
“Great piece of film. Very inspiring – it’s the way forward.”
Marcus Fernandez RSHom Principal, Centre for Homeopathic Education
STS is pushing on as an independent, and trusting the resources will come.
A SERIES OF INTERVIEWS – HOMEOPATHS FROM THE DEVELOPING WORLD SPEAK
At this time in homeopathy’s history it seems important to record the work being done by homeopaths from the developing world in their own countries. We posted a few clips on The International Voices page while we add to the library of these eloquent practitioners.
ONE STROKE AT A TIME
While filming two families in New York for the Saving a Lost Generation project, Carol met the four rowers getting ready to attempt the record for an unsupported row from New York to The Scilly Isles in a 23 foot rowing boat – a record that had stood for 118 years. Their true grit approach got her attention, but another part of the story had her following the men around for 3 weeks before they set off on their epic trip. By the time they reached the Scilly Isles STS was standing next to the BBC filming their arrival. Currently in the editing room and waiting for last pieces of footage to come in from the GoPro.
DOWN ON THE FARM
Livestock farming is a tough occupation and getting tougher every year. The threats from weather and disease are ever present, the profit margins are slim and the line between surviving and going under is very, very thin. Farmers are among the most pragmatic of people. They have to be – their survival depends upon it. But there’s something strange happening down on the farm. Despite the suggestion that homeopathic medicines are nothing more than placebo, pragmatic farmers and their vets are convinced that homeopathy is helping to keep their livestock healthy and their farms afloat. Most importantly given the increasing threat from Antimicrobial Resistance created by the overuse of antibiotics, especially in the livestock industry, homeopathy was instrumental in reducing the need for antibiotics in all species. We visit the farms, talk to farmers, their herdsmen and their vets. We look at the problems they face and the solutions they have found.
